MALAI STYLE DRUMSTICK COCONUT MILK SWEET THEECHI

             Welcome to Crescent Star Kitchen today we are going to see  a slight different side dish from a normal  poriyal ,kootu stir fries.It tastes yummy and is signature sidedish recipe paired with hot steamed rice and have it with spicy non veg gravy’s which give you sweety spicy taste and it’s a treat to your taste buds.
       

  The method is very simple and adding coconut milk makes the recipe delicious in its own way.Chopping the drumsticks are sauted with spices gives a creamy look with coconut milk and laced with caramel.

TIPS:
   
   To get great taste in this sidedish it is very important to choose the drumstick that have soft centres and are thicker (i.e)fat in size.Fatter drumsticks means the pulp of it should be more which makes it more juicy,nutritious,sheer in its own way.
             



                                         
Drumstick with the other name Moringa is a famous vegetable popular in South Asia is easily cultivated and tree can be seen in every Indian houses .So it becomes the largest producer and consumer in market.  .The murungai tree is traditional tree and grews easily in every garden .Its every part – leaves,fruits(pods),flowers,barks,seeds has tremendous medicinal values with added minerals.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:


  • Oil -2 teaspoon

  • Onion –1(Large chopped)

  • Drumstick -5

  • Curry Leaves -2 Bunches

  • Cumin Seeds-1tsp

  • Sombu Seeds -1tsp

  • Coconut -1

  • Turmeric Powder -1/2 tsp

  • Chilli Powder -1 tsp

  • Coriander Powder -1//2 tsp

  •  Salt -3/4 tsp

  • Water –As required

RECIPE MAKING PROCESS :



STEP 1:Peel and cut all the drumstick in to 3 inch long pieces.Turn on the stove and place the nonstick pan and add required oil.
                                             





STEP 2:After oil gets heated up and shimmering,add cumin seeds ,sombu seeds in kadai.
                                 





STEP 3:After giving a little sauté add curry leaves to give flavour to dish.






STEP 4:When the curry leaves gets crispy add in finely chopped onions and sauté them.Adding more onions to the dish gives you more taste to it.







STEP 5: Add salt on the kadai to quickly onions gets soft and golden brown.
                                       




STEP 6:Add turmeric powder to get little colour and its good for health.
                                 


 STEP 7:Add coriander powder to it.
                               







STEP 8:Give a light sauté to it and add  cleaned washed  drumstick and sauté them and add required water for the drumstick to cook.
                                 





     




STEP 9:After  the drumstick gets soft and cooked, add first thick coconut milk to evenly coat them and
sprinkle it with little sugar mix it and  off the stove.
